Calgary BMX is Opening June 1st!
Calgary BMX Riders, we have a very exciting announcement to make - Calgary BMX is opening on June 1!!
That being said, riding at the track this year will look VERY different for everyone. Being able to access the track during this pandemic is a PRIVILEGE and we are working very hard behind the scenes to provide as safe of a space as possible for our members to enjoy getting out to ride.
The sessions we are offering are one hour OPEN TRACK sessions (MAX 4 per week per rider) to members only. Only 50 riders MAX per session will be permitted. Track usage will be heavily regulated and physical distancing is non negotiable. We understand that some of these new rules may be unpleasant or not ideal, but we are committed to ensuring transmission risk at the track is minimized and that our association does its part to maintain the strict standards set out by Alberta Health for everyone's benefit.
Weekly Coaching Sessions take place as follows:
Monday: Novice/Intermediate Coaching 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Thursday: Expert Coaching 7:00 - 8:00pm
Open Tracks:
Monday: 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Tuesday: 5:30pm - 6:30pm and 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Wednesday: 5:30pm - 6:30pm and 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Thursday: 5:30pm - 6:30pm
All Track Times need to be booked through Appointy, our Online Booking System. Any riders that are not pre-registered for any time will not be allowed into the compound.

Here are some important details that need to be noted:
The track is open to members only. You MUST have your Alberta Bicycle membership and your Calgary BMX membership to be permitted to ride. While we have reduced our volunteer commitment to 15 hrs, those 15 hrs are non negotiable. We will require 6-8 volunteers per session to run successfully plus we have work bees scheduled throughout the season that we will need folks to volunteer at.

You must sign up for your sessions on the app provided to you when you register as a member. If you are not signed up, you will not be permitted to enter the track. No exceptions.

Please review the attached Initial Opening Rules & Format document for further details on the new regulations that will be in place.
